Shawnee Mission Medical Center – Tower Addition & Birthing Center

Barnes & Dodge has been a part of the construction team for all major phases of the construction of this seven story, 240,000 square foot hospital expansion. As one of the mechanical contractors for this project, Barnes & Dodge installed ductwork, ceiling diffusers, and assisted with installation of air handling equipment. In order to facilitate the construction schedule, the ductwork serving typical patient rooms was pre-assembled in our fabrication shop.
The new Birthing Center at Shawnee Mission Medical center is a new three story, 78,000 square foot building. It has 26 new labor and delivery rooms, 25 neonatal intensive-care unit rooms and 41 postpartum rooms. As one of the mechanical contractors for this project, our scope included ductwork, ceiling diffusers, and assisting with installation of air handling equipment.
